Our Kennels
We’ve built our kennels ourselves using decades of experience with various breeds.
An ideal outdoor kennel for a breeding dog should provide a comfortable and safe living environment that allows the dog to exercise, play, and rest as needed. The kennel should be spacious enough to accommodate the dog's size and allow them to move around freely. It should also be well-ventilated, with proper drainage and insulation to protect the dog from extreme weather conditions.
All of our kennels are at least 10 by 10 feet in size over a concrete pad. Kennels which are not over a concrete pad are built over natural ground. All kennels open to a large exercise area where the dogs enjoy daily play.
Kennels should be constructed with high-quality, durable materials that can withstand the dog's movements and prevent them from escaping. It should also be designed with safety features such as a secure latch or lock to prevent unauthorized access. The kennel should have a roof to provide shelter from the sun and rain, and it should be elevated off the ground to prevent flooding and to keep the dog dry.
Our kennels have been built by hand using treated lumber for framing and welded wire for fencing. All kennels are roofed and shaded with gates that automatically lock when they are closed. Kennels that keep mothering dogs have shaded whelping boxes.
It's important to provide the dog with a comfortable sleeping area, such as a raised bed with clean and soft bedding, to ensure they get a good night's rest. The kennel should also have a separate area for feeding, with access to fresh water at all times.
We clean our kennels on a strict daily regiment that can take upwards of 12 hours per day. We believe our animals are family members and deserve the utmost care and highest quality living environment possible.
All of our dogs receive fresh food, water, and 1-on-1 socialization each day.
