How much should I feed my husky puppy?

You’ve chosen the perfect Siberian Husky puppy and nutritious food for them… Now you are wondering… how much food should I be giving them?

When you bring home your puppy from Halo Huskies, we will tell you how much your puppy has been eating! We start feeding each puppy individually beginning at 5 weeks old so that we know how much each one is eating and monitor their stool to ensure it is the proper amount!

If you are getting a husky puppy from somewhere else, ask your breeder for guidance on how much food your puppy has been eating daily!

Recommended Amount: Generally, an 8-week-old husky puppy eats about 1 1/2 cups of puppy food daily. It is recommended that this be split up into 1 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening.

Things to watch for: If your puppy has watery or loose stool after they eat, this is too much food for their belly. Reduce the amount by 1/4 cup and continue to monitor their stool. You want your puppy to have solid stools consistently as loose stools should only happen when your puppy is sick or has gotten into something.

If you have one of our husky puppies from Halo Huskies, we are always here to help with any questions or problems! Just reach out via our Halo Huskies Extended Pack Facebook Group, or send Tim a text or Facebook Message!
